Heavyweight TV is a Melbourne Australia-based hip-hop and urban culture television show in its second year of operations.
As hip hop steps up to the next level in Australia, the Heavyweight crew are ring side capturing the phenomenon. As Australia’s premier Hip Hop TV show, we document the four elements of Hip Hop: aerosol art, lyricism, breaking and turntablism. Its history in the making we bring it to your box unleashed and uncensored.
Regular weekly features include: artist performances and interviews, live event footage, music video clips, tech tips, DJ and Breaking battles, special segments and guest hosting.
The Heavyweight crew is a collective of mad Hip Hop fanatics and artists who volunteer their talent, skills, time and effort to create a show that turns it up for the Australian public. Heavyweight TV is dedicated to showcasing authentic hip hop culture and providing a platform for established and emerging artists.
Debuting on Melbourne's Channel 31 in the middle of 2005, Heavyweight has since spread its reach across Australia, screening in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
